I am retired, but while working as a newspaper pressman, I learned of my hearing loss as far back as the mid 1980's. I avoided getting the problem corrected. I didn't feel I could afford proper care. BIG, BIG mistake!
With the expert testing, fitting and care by Peggy Stephens, I have enjoyed my hearing aids since January. I was hearing only 2/3 of what was said. I was guessing at the rest.
I can't wait every morning to get my "ears on". I have two "in the ear" Destiny Digital models. I adapted to them quickly. No problems and only a couple of very minor adjustments.
My advice to anyone with hearing loss. Don't wait to get it corrected.

I was reluctant to purchase new hearing aids as my old ones were less than 5 years old. After having a lot of trouble with my old ones, I decided to give the Phonak Audeo YES a try.
After getting fitted with my new Phonak hearing aids, I could not believe the comfort of these compared to my old hearing aids. The next thing I noticed was that I could hear sounds that I haven't heard in years. The higher frequencies were back! The next thing I wanted to try was a noisy environment. We went to a restaurant and I could not believe that I could hear and Understand people speaking in this noisy environment. ALL of the loud background noise was gone! Another big difference with the Phonak aids compared to my old aids is fan noise. Fan noise was a big problem for me. Whenever I was in an area with a fan, I could not communicate with others as the fan noise was the only thing I heard. Now there is NO noise interference from fans.
If you are not prepared to buy new hearing aids, PLEASE do not try the Phonak hearing aids, as you will not want to switch back to your old ones. The clarity of these Phonak hearing aids is exceptional and the loud background noises are gone including wind noise.
